The Role
SK Heating & Cooling Ltd is expanding and is looking for an ambitious Business Development Executive to help drive our growth into the South East refrigeration and cold‑chain market.
Operating in or around Reading, this role is focused on generating new business, developing a strong sales pipeline, and winning refrigeration, cold room, and service contracts across the region. This is a hands‑on, field‑based role suited to someone who enjoys opening doors, building relationships, and converting opportunities into revenue.
You will play a key part in establishing SKHC as a leading mid‑market refrigeration specialist, supporting our strategic expansion beyond the South West.

Coverage: South East / Thames Valley
Salary: up to 40K
Hours: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:
Proactively generate new business opportunities across commercial and industrial refrigeration
Target mid‑market clients including food processors, wholesalers, distribution centres, cold rooms, and freezer rooms
Build and manage a strong pipeline of PPM, service, reactive, and installation opportunities
Attend client sites to understand requirements and position SKHC’s solutions
Work closely with internal technical and estimating teams to develop and submit proposals
Convert opportunities into long‑term contracts and repeat business
Represent SKHC in the South East, building awareness and market presence
Maintain accurate records of opportunities and activity within internal systems
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience in business development or sales within refrigeration, HVAC, FM, or technical services
Strong commercial awareness and confidence generating your own leads
Comfortable operating in a field‑based, self‑managed role
Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
Experience in using CRM systems (Hubspot / Salesforce / Clik)
Analysing industry trends, competitor activity and potential new market segments
Target Driven, resilient, and results‑focused mindset
Desirable:
Background in refrigeration, cold chain, or service & maintenance sales
Experience selling PPM or contract‑based services
Understanding of compliance, F‑Gas, or plant lifecycle services
